Our History
The Thompson CDC was originally established in 1996 to support economic development initiatives within the community. In later years, the organization operated as Thompson Unlimited, before ceasing operations in 2015.
In 2019, a community consultation process identified a renewed need for a dedicated, stand-alone organization to lead and coordinate development efforts. As a result, the Thompson CDC was revived with a strengthened focus on economic diversification, project leadership, and regional collaboration.
Today, the CDC continues to evolve, taking on new roles in tourism marketing, community partnerships, and project development to support Thompson’s long-term prosperity.
